Hey, hi hello, allow me to put you on to my favorite side of TikTok: Therapy Tok. It’s a space full of mental health professionals, licensed therapists, and dating and relationship experts who come together to offer up advice in… less than 60 seconds. (Yes, this is what dreams are made of, folks.)
If you haven’t seen these videos all over your For You page already, trust me, they’re legit. #TikTokTherapist has nearly 320 million views, #datingadvice has 1.6 billion views, and #sextherapy has 9.1 million.
Obviously this is the place you want to live if you’re 1) Going through a breakup, 2) Working through relationship trauma, 3) Navigating a situationship, or 4) All of the above.
But as we all know by now, you can’t believe everything you hear and see on the Internet—even if a so-called “expert” is telling you it via a TikTok. (Like, hi, pls show me some credentials before you talk about “the best first date tip ever” !!!!)
So to help, we’ve vetted and curated a list of the best dating and relationship therapists, coaches, and experts you can follow on the platform right now.
But as another important reminder: These videos aren’t a substitute for actual therapy. While some of these experts might offer up some insight that can help you on your journey, it may be more beneficial to reach out to an expert for individualized, one-on-one guidance—like via Talkspace, a text therapy app that starts at $49 per week.
