While many Americans have been voting absentee by mail already, IRL Election Day is November 3, 2020, which is coming up ASAP — as in next effing Tuesday! This year has absolutely obliterated any internal sense of time I thought I had, so it’s kinda crazy to think of this all happening so soon. With the big decision day coming up, there’s always a renewed spotlight on the differences between Democrats and Republicans, and apparently, per SKYN’s 2020 Sex and Intimacy Survey, these differences apply to activities in the bedroom as well.

Skyn’s annual survey is published in February, with some of the broader stats from the year highlighted at the time of publication — but, with the election coming up, they’ve released some never-before-seen stats on the differences between both Democrat and Republican parties when it comes to sex. The survey asked 2,000 nationally representative adults in the U.S. ages 18–39 which of the political parties best described their political affiliation (in other words, it wasn’t like you had to be officially registered as a member of either party to answer as such) before diving into some pretty fascinating questions.

The results show that:
Republicans:
- Have more sex than Democrats
- Are more likely to sleep with the friend of an ex out of spite than Democrats
- Are more likely to have sex a music festival than Democrats
- Are more likely to have sex with someone twice their age than Democrats
- Fake their orgasms more often than Democrats
Democrats:
- Use condoms more often than Republicans
- Watch more porn than Republicans
- Cuddle more often after sex than Republicans
While Both Parties:
- Agree that doggy-style is preferable to missionary position
- Use Tinder more than Hinge
Do you agree with how your party’s sex proclivities compare with the opposite party? Are you surprised by the results at all or were you like, “I absolutely saw that, duh”? Whether these results shook you or had you rolling your eyes like, “obviously,” remember to vote on November 3rd if you haven’t done so already. And it’s always a good idea to register with a party so you can A.) vote in primaries, and B.) participate in a sex survey of officially registered political party voters and rep your political affiliation should it ever come up.

While opportunities for the latter option may or may not be in your future, chances to exercise your right to vote will definitely come up again, so y’know, register, make sure your paperwork is all squared away, and VOTE, damnit!
